Mission Statement

Extensive research supports the notion that being socially connected (having friends and loved ones) enhances our emotional and physical health.  How does this work?  Scientists aren't sure.  In the Healthy Couples Research Project, we are investigating how social interactions between spouses can influence people's responses to stress and their general well-being.  We are also studying other aspects of people's lives, such as cultural norms, relationship characteristics, attitudes, and personalities, that might influence how spousal interactions work to alter health.

If you would like to be a part of our study, click the "Am I eligible?" link to the left and fill out the form.  We'll be in touch to let you know whether you may qualify.
